ABOUT

We are a group of dedicated (some would say mad) wildlife carers that live, work and play on the Atherton Tablelands. We are passionate about our native wildlife, and want to be able to help when they need us.

The group started in 1983 and has now grown to have more than 50 active members. We care for more than 200 animals every year.

The need is great however, and we are always keen to welcome new carers into our mentor program where you will be trained to look after wildlife from rescue to release. Its not always easy, the highs are high but the lows can be very low. Caring for wildlife is not for everyone and that's why you will be fully trained and supported.

We tailor your caring to your situation and interests. We have specialist carers for macropods (kangaroos), possums, birds, reptiles, bats. Even if you cannot care directly for wildlife, we have non-contact roles that you can help with.
